Jiashu Song – Piano Instructor

Jiashu started studying the piano at the age of 5. She attended the Affiliated Middle School of Sichuan Conservatory of Music where she studied under professor Ruolian Xie. Throughout high school, Jiashu has received many awards in competitions including first prize in Young Artist Competition in Gaithersburg, first prize in Piano Concerto Competition of Maryland State Music Teachers Association and first prize in DC Federation of Music Clubs competition. She received her Bachelor of Music from Catholic University of America. Jiashu also took part in masterclasses of The Washington International Piano Series given by well-known pianist Igor Lebedev, professor Changxin Guan and professor Murray McClachlan. Jiashu interned with the Smithsonian Folkways Recordings where she explored her interest in folk music and world music. Jiashu is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Piano Performance with a music scholarship at Catholic University of America under the direction of Dr. Ivo Kaltchev. Jiashu won the CUA Concerto Competition and recently performed Chopin Piano Concerto No. 2  with CUA Orchestra.
